Why FG must create enabling environment for foreign investors — Gani Adams

Aareonakakanfo of Yoruba land, Iba Gani Adams, on Friday held crucial meeting with top business executives from the Netherlands, restating the need for the Federal Government to create enabling environment for foreign investors to grow the country’s economy and enhance her development.

The meeting held at his Omole Phase 2 residence, Ikeja, Lagos, was the second in three months, first with investors from Thailand and the latest from Netherlands.

Iba Adams, in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Kehinde Aderemi, noted that the crux of the meeting with the foreign investors was to combat the spate of insecurity in the country by using technology-driven initiative, focus more on improving agriculture and food production strategies as well as evolving high tech mechanisms geared towards improving the nation’s economy.

Besides, the Yoruba generalissimo said the meeting also focused on creating the business synergy that allows the Netherland investors to build on the huge potentials of Nigeria in tourism, sports and arts, describing the parley with the Netherland business investors as fruitful “because we were able to discuss pertinent sundry national issues revolving around security, agriculture and information technology.”

“We also focus on creating the business synergy that allows the Netherland investors to build on the huge potentials of Nigeria in tourism, sports and arts.

“And I am happy they are keen in developing a business roadmap that will engender national growth and development,” Iba Adams said.

“So, our meeting was in national interest and I am optimistic that our friends from the Netherland will explore the Nigerian market and bring about a new change in all sectors of our economy,” he added.

The Netherlands Director of State Security, Mr.Niels Ducaat, said with the evolution of modern technology, Nigeria had no reason to suffer prolonged insecurity as, according to him, issues of security are key to every nation’s development.

Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on External Relations and Diaspora Affairs, Dr. Sunny Ofehe, explained the need to promote international business relationship between Nigeria and the Netherlands.

He expressed the hope that Nigeria was realizing its potential as the leading country in Africa as the meeting held with Iba Adams had indicated.

“With the meeting held with the Aareonakakanfo of Yoruba land, I am of the view that Nigeria is realizing its potentials as the leading country in Africa,” he said.

Also Netherlands Director, Global Football Academy, Mr. Joey Ngarigota, highlighted Nigeria’s strength in football, saying with the abundant talents in the country, Nigeria can harness the various potentials in football and in other sports.

Other members of the team that visited the Yoruba generalissimo include Managing Director, KAEOYS, Mr. Jacobus van Wissen; CEO, Orevstar Energy LTD Canada, Mr. Barry Urefe; Director, D White Royalty Place LTD Nigeria, Prince Abdul Okutepa, among others.
