Colleagues, mentees, students, staff members, co-workers at the Department of Chemical Pathology, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan devised the means through which to honour Professor Kehinde S. Akinlade whose retirement from the department where he heads the Endocrine Unit is imminent. They therefore organised Endocrine Day, the first of its kind, which was held at the Otunba Balogun Conference Centre in the university.
Prof Akinlade’s friends from way back at Christ’s School, Ado Ekiti and Igbobi College, Lagos were on hand. Prof E. A. Agbedana, Professor Abiodun Ilesanmi, Dr Femi Fayanjuola, Dr Odusan and Mrs. B. Ogah in their respective goodwill messages told of the many good sides of Professor Akinlade. Professor Olufemi Fasanmade gave a lecture and his proud uncle, Professor Adesoji Fasanmade, was the chairman of the occasion.
It was a beautiful blend of intellect, glamour, culture and grandeur and the chief host, Prof John Anetor commended Dr Mabel A. Charles Davies and her team for putting together the beautiful programme.
