President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said he remains committed to pursuing second term in office, dismissing suggestions that security challenges across the country could weaken his resolve.
He made this known during a meeting with Caleb Mutfwang and other key stakeholders from Plateau State, where discussions centred on the security situation and national stability.
Tinubu argued that attempts to link his administration’s performance to insecurity were being driven by individuals working against his political future.
“You are playing to the hand of agents, including my own enemies, who want to use insecurity to get rid of me,” Tinubu said.

Responding to growing criticism over the state of security, the President maintained that he would not be pressured out of office, stressing his determination to remain in the race.
“I’m a very stubborn politician. I just refuse to go. And I will campaign for my second term,” he said.
His comments came shortly after he secured the All Progressives Congress nomination and expression of interest forms ahead of the next general elections.
The form was picked on behalf of Tinuby by the federal lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke.
