The Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has congratulated Ndi Anambra and all Christians across Nigeria on the occasion of the celebration of Christmas.

In his goodwill message signed and made available to journalists in Awka on Thursday by his press secretary, Christian Aburime, Governor Soludo remarked that Christmas, which is a commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, represents the embodiment of hope, love, peace, and redemption, values that resonate significantly with our collective aspirations for a better society and nation.

“As we mark the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are reminded that the season transcends festive celebrations; it is a profound call to reflect on the virtues of compassion, selflessness, and unity that defined the life and teachings of Christ,” he said.

The governor enjoined all Christians in this season of joy and reflection to practise the true essence of Christmas by extending love and generosity to those around us, particularly the less privileged in our communities.

He affirmed that by sharing our blessings with the needy and bringing hope to the despairing, these acts of kindness mirror the spirit of the season and strengthen the bonds that unite us as one people.

He equally enjoined all Ndi Anambra and visitors alike to relax and enjoy “Onwa D’zemba”, a special event programme outlining the various exciting festive activities in the State

Governor Soludo also encouraged everyone to remember our dear nation, Nigeria, in our prayers this season by praying for peace, prosperity, and progress in our land, and for divine wisdom for our leaders at all levels of governance to steer the ship of state towards greater heights.

In all, Governor Soludo wishes to reassure all residents and visitors to Anambra State of a safe and secure environment throughout this festive period and beyond, wishing all a Merry Christmas of abundant blessings, good health and a Happy New Year filled with dreams and greater hope.

Also in it message, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), pray God to bring peace, love, and unity to the nation.

The message signed and made available to Journalists in Awka, by it National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara read in part, “As we reflect on the significance of Christmas and the values it represents – love, kindness, and selflessness – we urge all Nigerians to emulate these virtues in their interactions with one another. May this festive period bring us closer to our shared aspirations for a better Nigeria.

“As we countdown to a new year, APGA remains committed to the ideals of our great party and the welfare of our people. We reaffirm our dedication to working tirelessly towards a Nigeria that is truly inclusive, prosperous, and just for all.

“On behalf of the National Working Committee of APGA, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. May the coming year bring us joy, good health, and abundant blessings.”
