Still reeling from the abduction of eight of its members in Kwara State over the weekend, a retired pastor of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Professor B. Agang, has been kidnapped by gunmen in Jos, Plateau State.
This comes as ECWA, in a statement signed by its acting public relations officer, Danjuma Auta, disclosed the death of three of its members in a tragic motor accident involving a team returning from an EMS Saturation Outreach mission.
A source close to the family revealed that about four gunmen invaded Professor Agang’s residence at Farin-Gada, Jos North Local Government Area, in the early hours of Tuesday and whisked him away at gunpoint to an unknown location.
The source added that the gunmen arrived at around 5:00 am when the family was still in bed. They forced their way into the house, held the family hostage, and took the head of the household.
“Before the family could raise an alarm, the kidnappers had disappeared with their victim in a car brought by the assailants,” the source said.

Another source close to the church headquarters in Jos stated that the church authorities have reported the incident to the relevant security agencies and are making efforts to trace the kidnappers’ hideout.
It was further learned that, at the time of this report, the kidnappers had not contacted the family or the church leadership regarding any ransom demands.
When contacted, the spokesman for the Plateau State Police Command, SP Alfred Alabo, could not be reached, as calls to him went unanswered.
Meanwhile, the leadership of ECWA has confirmed the passing of three of its members following a tragic motor accident involving a team returning from an EMS Saturation Outreach mission.
In a statement signed by Danjuma Dickson Auta, ECWA Public Relations Officer, it was disclosed that the bus, carrying 14 participants from Zonzon DCC in Kaduna State and returning from Taraba State, was involved in an accident near the Lariski area of Bauchi State.
The statement added that the injured were rushed to a hospital in Gombe, where three victims were confirmed dead. Six others are currently receiving medical treatment, while five have been discharged in stable condition.
Those who lost their lives are Mama Deborah Bonat, former ECWA Women Fellowship International leader; Rev. Habila Tagwai Kajan, former Zonzon DCC Secretary; and Mama Lydia John.
According to the statement, ECWA leadership is actively coordinating with relevant authorities to ensure the safe return of the deceased to their families for burial.
