The Kogi State Police Command has confirmed the kidnapping of Barr. Zacchaeus Michael, the caretaker chairman (CTC) of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, by unknown gunmen.

It was gathered that he was abducted at about 6 p.m. yesterday, along with some of his aides, at the security building he initiated along the Kogi State University Kabba-Okene Road.

Confirming the incident, the Owe Political Platform said in a message that the Caretaker Chairman and some of his aides, including Bank Andrew, were kidnapped by gunmen.

“We, the administrators of Owe Political Platform, are appealing to all members to join in prayer for their safe release without harm. Anyone with credible information that could assist in their rescue is urged to contact the police. May God show His face and touch the hearts of those responsible.”

Confirming the incident, the State Police Command stated that it is true that the caretaker chairman (CTC) of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael, was kidnapped by gunmen.

The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, told our correspondent on Saturday morning that he was kidnapped last night along Kabba/Okene Road in Kabba.

“Yes, I got the information. The Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha, has already deployed officers for a search and rescue mission, and we are on top of the situation,” he said.

Sources said that Dare was abducted alongside some of his aides on Kabba-Okene Road in the state.

The source said, “Reports indicate that CTC Kabba/Bunu Chairman Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael and some of his aides have been allegedly kidnapped by unidentified gunmen on the Kabba-Okene expressway in Kabba.

“Authorities are seeking any credible information that may aid in their safe rescue. I urge everyone to pray for their immediate and safe release, asking for divine intervention and protection during this critical time.”
