The Nigerian Police, Katsina State Command, has disclosed the arrest of one person in connection with the kidnap of five female students of the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina State.
Tribune Online reports that bandits, in the early hours of Wednesday, stormed the university and abducted five female students.
Confirming the abduction, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Abubakar Aliyu said the bandits stormed the institution around 2am.
He said the female students were residing in a building behind Mariamoh Ajiri Memorial School, Dutsinma where they were abducted.
He also said one person suspected to be an informant to the bandits who abducted the students was arrested.
According to him, a search and rescue team had been deployed to rescue the students.
