The Oyo State Governorship Campaign Council of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has expanded its campaign committees with the appointment of additional members ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The council also announced that the expanded committees would be formally inaugurated on Friday at the Local Government Hall, Secretariat, Ibadan.

The Director-General of the Oyo APM Governorship Campaign Council, Dr Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, saying the expansion was aimed at strengthening coordination, mobilisation and grassroots engagement across the state.

According to Adeniran, the restructuring was designed to improve the effectiveness of the council’s operations and encourage broader participation in the party’s campaign activities.

He said, “The expansion of the campaign committees is part of our efforts to strengthen coordination, mobilisation and grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.”

As part of the changes, the council established a new Community Relations and Voters’ Education Committee, while the existing Mobilisation Committee was divided into specialised subcommittees to enhance efficiency and improve outreach to different groups.

The new subcommittees under the Mobilisation Committee are Youth and Women Contact; Workers and Pensioners’ Contact; Religious Contact; Groups and Volunteers Support; Ethnic Group; and Traders and Artisans Support.

Adeniran expressed confidence that the additions and restructuring would strengthen the council’s ability to engage communities, mobilise supporters, promote voter education and coordinate campaign activities across Oyo State.

He added that the expanded structure would help the party improve stakeholder engagement and extend its reach to more communities as it prepares for the elections.

The additional appointments cut across the Media and Publicity; Logistics and Transportation; Reconciliation and Contacts; Protocol and Accommodation; Venue and Stage; Welfare and Medical; and Security and Traffic committees.

Moses Olayinka Tella, Mariam Taofeek and Jadesola Ibitoye were named as additional members of the Media and Publicity Committee, while Akande Olabisi Ayinde, Hon. Joel Oyelami Oyeyemi, Hon. Oludayo Opatokun, Alhaji Kamoru Adayemi and Dr Olawale Aremu joined the Logistics and Transportation Committee.

The Reconciliation and Contacts Committee was expanded with the addition of Alhaji Mufu Ogunremi, Hon. Adigun Tajudeen Adeniyi, Adesanya Bamidele Solomon and Oladepo Kazeem Adebowale.

Other appointments include Maruf Balogun, Hon. Yusuf Adekunle, Hon. Gbadegesin Waheed, Hon. Ajala Abraham and Ajao Tolulope Deborah, who were appointed to the Protocol and Accommodation Committee.

Under the Youth and Women Contact Committee, Kazeem Olalekan Bello was named coordinator, with Mrs Toyin Olaniran as co-coordinator.

Dr Wasiu Olantubosun was appointed coordinator of the Workers and Pensioners’ Contact Committee, while Rev. Olufemi Ibikunle, Alhaji AbulRasheed Azeez and Dr Fayemi Fatunde were named co-coordinators of the Religious Contact Committee.

Alhaji Adebisi Rasheed will coordinate the Groups and Volunteers Support Committee, while Tallest Innocent will lead the Ethnic Group Committee. Agba Akin Benedict Akika JP was named coordinator of the Traders and Artisans Support Committee.

Hon. Olufemi Josiah will chair the newly established Community Relations and Voters’ Education Committee, alongside Hon. Oladele Dauda Tokunbo, Hon. Folawiyo Monshood and Surv. (Chief) Olaide Tijani as members.

The Venue and Stage Committee, Welfare and Medical Committee, and Security and Traffic Committee also received additional members as part of the expanded campaign structure.

The council reaffirmed its commitment to building an effective campaign organisation capable of reaching communities across the state, strengthening stakeholder relationships and coordinating activities towards the party’s electoral objectives.
