African Action Congress (AAC) has called on its members and residents of Oyo to actively participate in the 2027 general elections.

The call was contained in a statement signed by the Oyo chairman of AAC, Mr Kayode Babayomi, urging party members to step forward and prepare to contest elective positions.

Babayomi also called on individuals from progressive organisations, student movements, labour unions, and community groups to join the party and be part of the electoral process.

According to him, the AAC remains the only credible alternative to the existing political order in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

He said the 2027 elections would present a decisive contest between the masses and what he described as an old political system that has failed the people over the years.

Babayomi expressed confidence that residents of Oyo State had learned valuable lessons and were ready to support a party genuinely committed to justice, fairness, and people-centred leadership.

He emphasised that membership of the AAC is essential for anyone seeking to contest under the party, noting that only registered members would be eligible to obtain nomination forms.

The party chairman urged interested citizens not to remain passive but to take active steps toward political engagement, organisation, and participation.

He described the moment as a critical opportunity for concerned citizens to unite under a pro-people platform and reclaim the future of governance in the state.
