Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has written to the State House of Assembly seeking approval for the reappointment of three commissioners who served in his first-term administration, barely 10 days after his inauguration for a second term.
The governor, according to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Olayinka Oyebode, dated October 27, 2026, also requested the Assembly’s approval for the appointment of 10 special advisers to assist in the administration of the state.

In a letter addressed to the Speaker of the Assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye, on Monday, Oyebanji requested the screening and confirmation of Dayo Apata (SAN) as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Akintunde Oyebode as Commissioner for Finance, and Oyebanji Filani as Commissioner for Health and Human Services.
The governor said the appointments were important to ensuring continuity in critical sectors and strengthening service delivery as his administration begins its second term.
The request comes after Oyebanji approved appointments in the power, road infrastructure, and transportation sectors last week.
