NSCDC arrests 42-year-old man for NDA admission racketeering in Kwara

Kwara state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Monday said it arrested one Abdulsalam Ajibola, 42-year-old suspected impersonator.

In a statement by the Public relations officer (PRO) of the command, Ayeni Olasunkanmi, the suspect had allegedly defrauded two persons to the tune of about N800,000.

It was also gathered that Abdulsalam had allegedly defrauded his victims by promising to help them get admission into Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna state.

The statement said that the suspect was tracked down at Oke-Onigbin in the Isin local government area of the state on March 24, 2023, by the tracking unit of the command.

“Abdulsalam was alleged to have impersonated a soldier to defraud Abdullahi Saheed of N700,000, and Ropo Gabriel to the tune of N96,000 having promised to help them get admission into Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna state.

“He was alleged to have also falsely taken a Toyota picnic car from one Prophet Samuel Olugbemiga for commercial transportation after which he absconded.

“The suspect will be arraigned before the court for prosecution.”
