The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) has partnered with the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development to enhance compliance, transparency, and revenue generation in the mining sector through a major stakeholder sensitisation programme on the 2025 Tax Reform Act.
The initiative, themed “From Resource to Revenue: Aligning Solid Minerals Operations with the 2025 Tax Reform Act,” will hold on May 20, at 8 AM, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
The event targets operators, regulators, industry leaders, and other stakeholders in the North-Central region.
Commenting on the programme via his X handle, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, expressed support for the initiative.
“I look forward to joining stakeholders, operators and regulators in Abuja on Wednesday May 20, 2026 for the Nigeria Revenue Service and Ministry of Solid Minerals Development sensitisation session on the 2025 Tax Reform Act,” Alake stated.
“This conversation is important for the future of Nigeria’s solid minerals sector. We must continue to improve compliance, strengthen transparency and ensure our mineral resources translate into real value for the country and its people.”

The minister urged all relevant stakeholders to participate actively, saying the engagement would help build “a stronger and more responsible mining sector”.
The sensitisation session is expected to provide clarity on the new royalty administration framework under the 2025 Tax Reform Act, promote better understanding of tax obligations, and foster collaboration between government agencies and private sector players in the solid minerals industry.
A formal dress code has been specified for the event. Stakeholders interested in attending are advised to RSVP via the designated contact persons.
The partnership between the NRS and the ministry underscores the government’s commitment to unlocking the full economic potential of Nigeria’s vast mineral resources while ensuring strict adherence to fiscal regulations.
Industry observers view the programme as a critical step towards formalising operations in the sector and reducing revenue leakages.
Further sessions for other geopolitical zones are expected to follow in the coming weeks.
