He’s jealous ‘cos I presented another man as my husband to rent a house – Wife

A woman, Bashirat Qodri, has sued her husband, Solihu Musa, for divorce at the Area Court, Centre-igboro, Ilorin, Kwara State,  over his jealous attitude.

She urged the court to dissolve their marriage and grant her custody of the only child in their marriage.

She further pleaded that her husband be made responsible for their child’s upkeep.

“My husband asked me to leave his house before the first week of September and I packed out.

“The place I wanted to rent had a condition, and that was that I must be married. So I pleaded with the caretaker to present himself as my husband.

“My husband trailed me about and when he discovered my apartment, he started harassing and accusing me of adultery, ”she said.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Solihu agreed to divorce, saying that his wife had packed to another man’s house with their three female children.

He said that the wife had two female children for her ex-husband and one for him, adding that she does not take care of them and not capable of doing so.

The presiding judge, Idris Etsu, while delivering judgment stated that since the two parties were no longer interested in their marriage, there was no need to hold them down in it.

Etsu, therefore, dissolved their marriage and granted the plaintiff custody of their child.

He instructed her to observe the three-month iddah period before remarrying.

The judge ordered the defendant to pay N10,000 monthly as their child’s maintenance fee and also be responsible for her education and medical care when the need arise.

He granted the defendant access to their child at reasonable time
