The Osun State Chairman of the Accord Party, Pastor Victor Babalola Akande, has directed leaders of the party across the state to mobilise to various collation centres to protect the votes recorded for the party’s governorship candidate, Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Akande gave the directive in a statement issued on Saturday, August 15, 2026, following the governorship election held across the state.

The chairman said the directive was necessary to ensure that what he described as Adeleke’s “overwhelming victory” at the polling units was properly protected throughout the collation process.

He called on Accord leaders to move to the designated collation centres and demonstrate leadership by ensuring that votes cast by the electorate were duly counted.

“It is time to show leadership and protect the mandate of our people. It is our collective duty to protect the votes freely cast by the good people of Osun State.

“We must remain vigilant, peaceful and committed throughout the collation process. The victory we have secured is not merely a victory for Accord or for Governor Adeleke; it is a victory for the good people of Osun State who have spoken clearly through their votes.

“I therefore urge all our leaders across the state to proceed immediately to the designated collation centres and ensure that the mandate of the people is protected,” Akande said.

The Accord chairman also urged party leaders and supporters to remain calm, law-abiding and peaceful while working to preserve the integrity of the electoral process.

He expressed confidence that the will of the electorate would prevail and that the mandate renewed for Adeleke would be upheld through the final collation of results.
