National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, on Thursday, visited Singa Market in Kano, attracting a large crowd of supporters, traders, and youths in what observers described as a strong display of grassroots popularity.
The visit was part of a sympathy tour to victims of a recent fire incident at the market.
Hundreds of youths gathered along Bello Road and surrounding streets as Kwankwaso’s motorcade arrived, chanting slogans and cheering in support of the former Kano governor.

Witnesses said supporters shouted “Kano sai Kwankwaso,” as they surged toward his convoy to catch a glimpse of him. Kwankwaso stepped out of his vehicle to acknowledge the crowd, waving and flashing a victory sign while responding to the cheers.
The large turnout temporarily disrupted commercial activities in Kano Central’s business district, with vehicular movement slowed along major roads as crowds blocked parts of the streets during the visit.
Kwankwaso, dressed in his signature white traditional attire and red cap, interacted briefly with traders and sympathizers at the market, where many expressed appreciation for his visit and described it as a gesture of solidarity with those affected by the fire outbreak.
The market visit came shortly after another large gathering of supporters reportedly assembled earlier at his residence along Miller Road in Kano, further highlighting continued enthusiasm among his followers in the city.
