Anambra governor’s wife and the founder of Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo’s Initiative, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has urged Christians across the World to lay down the swords of enmity and bitterness for the overall good of mankind.

Mrs Soludo who made this known in a message released in Awka on Wednesday to mark this year’s Ash Wednesday, explained that humanity should embrace the principal ideals of love to achieve peace and development.

The governor’s wife, while noting that the feast of Ash Wednesday calls everyone to compassionate action, explained that by understanding that life devoid of love is empty, man must look up to Jesus Christ as the most perfect example of what a life of impact should look like.

Mrs Soludo, who described this year’s Ash Wednesday as special, pointed out that it is a firm call on mankind to understand that love outweighs every other injunction from God.

According to her, the Holy Season of Lent begins with the liturgical feast of Ash Wednesday and for every Christian, it is a period of solemness, supplication, and atonement.

Mrs Soludo noted that Ash Wednesday reminds faithful of the ephemerality of mortality, the temporality of thoughts, and God’s unmistakable promise of life.

She said, “reminding us that God calls humanity to focus on what truly matters: ‘Today, God, the sole Creator of life, draws humanity’s focus to the brevity of life and the essence of living for love and worthwhile purpose.'”

Mrs. Soludo urged Christians to embody the example of Christ Himself, noting that in the next 39 Days of Lent, it is expected that Christians will live out the true image of Christ and lay down the swords of enmity and bitterness for the overall good of mankind.

The First Lady expressed hope that this season would bring people together in positive ways, praying that these upcoming holy days become a great moment for families and communities to unite and grow better in love, harmony, and peace.
