At the event, where 23 distinguished alumni were unveiled, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Egbewole (SAN), highlighted that the University of Ilorin Advocates Unveiling initiative is designed to honor alumni who have significantly impacted their fields, communities, and alma mater. Professor Egbewole stated that the initiative aims to acknowledge and celebrate these individuals, promoting their achievements and inspiring current students. He emphasized that as advocates, the honorees would serve as mouthpieces for the university, championing its values of excellence, integrity, and community engagement. Through their leadership, expertise, and networks, they will play a pivotal role in promoting the institution and fostering collaboration, thereby enhancing the reputation of UNILORIN both nationally and internationally.

Fafoluyi’s recognition reflects his substantial contributions to his field and his dedication to fostering the growth and development of the next generation. His journey from a promising student to a recognized leader exemplifies his commitment to personal growth and mentorship.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that the role of UNILORIN Advocates goes beyond mere promotion of the university. It also involves giving back to the community by serving as mentors and role models for current students. The advocates are expected to inspire students to dream big, pursue their passions, and make a positive impact in their communities. They are encouraged to share their experiences, offer guidance, and provide opportunities for students to thrive and succeed in their chosen paths.
