The member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Leke Abejide, has condemned the recent bandit attack in Egbe-Okoloke, Yagba West local government, which claimed the lives of three police officers and two members of the vigilante group.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Public Communications, Bashiru Abdul Mohammed, the lawmaker described the incident as “barbaric, heinous and frightful,” whilst expressing dissatisfaction with the increasing attacks on security operatives and citizens in the area.

“I am pained and worried about the rising insecurities in the land,” he lamented.

Abejide called on the state and federal governments to take proactive measures to protect lives and properties in Yagba Federal Constituency.

He appealed to the Chief Servant Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Ododo, to swing into action in apprehending the miscreants and hoodlums ravaging Yagba land and “puncturing our peaceful co-existence to forestall reoccurrences in the near future.”

The lawmaker extended his condolences to the bereaved families, Kogi State Command of the Nigerian Police Force, comforting them over the slain officers and vigilantes, while reassuring them that the perpetrators will be brought to book.
