Jigawa State Hisbah Command has distributed 27 Hilux operational vehicles to its commands in the state’s 27 local government areas to strengthen its operations and improve its reach to remote communities.

Presenting the vehicles at the Hisbah headquarters in Dutse, the Commandant-General of the Jigawa State Hisbah Board, Dr Fa’iz Bashir Haroun, said the vehicles were purchased and donated to the board by the state government to enhance the efficiency of Hisbah personnel in the discharge of their duties.

He said each local government command had been directed to commence patrol operations immediately in its area of jurisdiction.

Fa’iz urged the local commands to identify places where immoral activities take place and take appropriate measures to promote sanity, and responsible behaviour in the state.

The commandant-general, warned the beneficiaries against using the vehicles for purposes other than official Hisbah operations.

He stressed that only properly uniformed officers are authorised to use the vehicles during patrols, urging the officers to maintain discipline and ensure that the vehicles are used strictly for their intended purpose.

He directed zonal officers to closely monitor the use of the vehicles in their respective local government areas, expressing optimism that the new operational support will bring positive changes to Hisbah activities across the state.

Dr Fa’iz commended Governor Umar Namadi for what he described as his administration’s unwavering support for the Hisbah command, as the assistance hasstrengthened the board’s capacity to discharge its responsibilities effectively.

He explained that the primary responsibility of Hisbah is to prevent immoral acts and promote good moral conduct in order to establish a peaceful and decent society.
