The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Jigawa State, Senator Sabo Mohammed Nakudu, has described his 2027 governorship bid as a “rescue mission” aimed at resetting governance and improving the living conditions of residents.

Nakudu made the declaration on Sunday at his residence in Dutse, the state capital, while receiving a delegation of Alarammas and Tsangaya teachers led by Goni Malam Ibrahim Mai Bindiga Hadejia, who paid him a solidarity visit.

He said his decision to contest the governorship election was driven by the need to re-engineer governance, revive the state’s economy, ease hardship and restore public confidence in government.

The ADC candidate pledged to run an open, transparent and accountable administration if elected, saying the needs, concerns and complaints of citizens would guide government policies and programmes.

According to him, his administration would prioritise policies capable of improving the welfare of residents and creating opportunities for economic empowerment across the state.

Nakudu thanked the delegation for its support, promising to work closely with Islamic education stakeholders to improve their welfare and strengthen the contribution of Tsangaya education to the development of Jigawa.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Goni Mai Bindiga Hadejia said the group visited Nakudu to declare its support for his candidacy, citing his political programmes and development agenda.

Also speaking, the Director-General for Nakudu’s campaign council, Hon. Ado Sani Kiri, expressed confidence in the party’s prospects of winning the 2027 general elections.

Kiri urged the Alarammas and Tsangaya teachers to sustain their prayers, support and mobilisation for the ADC and its candidates at all levels ahead of the 2027 elections.
