The Acting Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, Comfort Ajiboye, has said that information management is vital to actualizing the Renewed Hope Agenda of the present government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

She made this statement while speaking at the ongoing 48th National Council of Information and National Orientation in Kaduna on Thursday.

Ajiboye said that under the stewardship of the Honourable Minister of Information, Muhammad Ibrahim, the Ministry has witnessed a remarkable transformation, marked by a renewed emphasis on transparency, accountability, and inclusivity.

She added that the Minister’s unwavering commitment to the principles of good governance has reinvigorated their mandate, enabling them to connect citizens more effectively with government policies and programs.

According to Comfort Ajiboye, “It is with great pleasure that I welcome you all to the 48th National Council of Information and National Orientation, hosted in the historic and hospitable Kaduna State. Our profound appreciation goes to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Uba Sani, for his unwavering support and for graciously providing the enabling environment for this significant gathering. Kaduna was one of our recent hosts during the 46th Council, and after a quiet period of seven years, it is hosting again. This shows the commitment of the state to the cause of information and communication management, for which we remain grateful.”

“Today’s theme, ‘Enhancing Public Information Management for Inclusive Governance: The Renewed Hope Agenda in Focus,’ speaks to the heart of our national aspiration under the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.”

“It calls for a reexamination of our approaches to communication and public orientation to ensure that governance becomes a shared journey in which every Nigerian feels included and empowered.

“This focus is a testament to the visionary leadership of the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, fnipr.”

“Under the Honourable Minister’s stewardship, the Ministry has witnessed a remarkable transformation, marked by a renewed emphasis on transparency, accountability, and inclusivity.

“His unwavering commitment to the principles of good governance has reinvigorated our mandate, enabling us to connect citizens more effectively with government policies and programs.”

“This year’s Council meeting is further enriched by the presence of distinguished members of the Senate and House Committees on Information and National Orientation.

“Your presence underscores the critical legislative support required to advance our shared goal of fostering a well-informed and cohesive society.

“Your contributions and insights will undoubtedly shape our deliberations and strengthen the outcomes of this event.”

“As we engage, we are reminded of the pivotal role of information management in actualizing the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“A government cannot be truly inclusive if its policies and programs are not effectively communicated and widely understood.”

“Our task, therefore, is to harmonize efforts across all tiers of government, leveraging our collective expertise to amplify the voice of governance and make it resonate with every Nigerian, regardless of their location or circumstance.”

“This Council provides an opportunity to align our priorities, deliberate on innovative strategies, and explore collaborative frameworks that will enhance public information management.

“As custodians of public trust and advocates of inclusive governance, we must also ensure that ethics and values remain central to our orientation and communication strategies.”

“Let me also highlight the essential role of the Central Delivery Coordination Unit (CDCU), which continues to monitor and evaluate our Ministry’s performance against key deliverables.

“Their insights and evaluations will guide us in aligning our efforts with the overarching objectives of this administration.”

“In conclusion, I urge all participants to engage in robust and solution-driven discussions. Together, let us develop actionable resolutions that will strengthen the bond between the government and the people and foster a renewed sense of hope across the nation.”

“On behalf of the Ministry, I thank the Senate and House Committees on Information for their steadfast support and His Excellency, the Governor of Kaduna State, for his hospitality. My appreciation also goes to the Honourable Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, other stakeholders, and all participants for their dedication to this noble cause. Thank you, and I wish us all a productive and impactful Council meeting. God bless Kaduna State.”

Dignitaries at the occasion included the representative of Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, Dr. James Kanyip; MD of NAN, Ali M. Ali; DG of FRCN, Dr. Mohammed Bulama; DG of VON, Jibrin Baba Ndace; DG of NTA, Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos; Information Commissioners from across the federation; senior and other staff of the Federal Ministry of Information; the Chinese delegation, among others.
