Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO Plc) has officially announced the return of its premier culinary event, with the ninth edition of the GTCO Food and Drink Festival set to take place from Friday, May 1, through Sunday, May 3.

The three-day event will be hosted at the GTCentre, located on Water Corporation Drive in Oniru, Victoria Island, maintaining its tradition of bringing a world-class gastronomic experience to the heart of Lagos.

This year’s edition is centred around the theme “Everything Food and Drink,” a concept designed to highlight the expansive and storytelling nature of the culinary arts.

Organisers note that the festival has evolved from a seasonal celebration into a major cultural and economic engine.

To support local enterprise, the 2026 festival will feature 204 free retail stalls, providing a platform for small and medium-scale businesses to showcase everything from generational traditional recipes to modern, global fusion techniques.

The scheduled program promises an immersive experience for attendees, ranging from interactive masterclasses and live cooking demonstrations to specialised food and wine tastings.

Beyond the marketplace, the event remains a staple for families, featuring a dedicated play area and activities designed to engage children.

This holistic approach ensures the festival serves as a comprehensive lifestyle event rather than a mere trade fair.

Reflecting on the upcoming festivities, Segun Agbaje, the Group Chief Executive Officer of GTCO Plc, described the event as a living expression of the institution’s core values of innovation and enterprise.

He noted that the festival’s true strength lies in its humanity, as it uses the universal language of food to break social barriers and foster connections that endure long after the final stalls are packed away.

Since its debut, the GTCO Food and Drink Festival has established itself as a leading culinary destination on the continent, drawing visitors from across Nigeria and the international diaspora. In keeping with its mission of inclusivity and community support, admission to the event remains free for all members of the public.
