BATMEDICS, a support group associated with Seyi Tinubu and committed to humanitarian and community healthcare services, has provided free medical services to about 10,000 residents across seven locations in Kaduna State.

This is contained in a press statement issued by Petra Akinti Onyegbule, Director, Medical, Research and Communication BATMEDICS and made available to TribuneOnline in Lokoja.

The medical outreach, conducted under the supervision of the Minister of Health and in collaboration with the Medical Directorate of the APC Presidential Campaign Committee, featured eye screening, medical treatment and surgical interventions.

Of the beneficiaries, approximately 3,000 residents received eye screening, while 212 underwent surgeries. Pregnant women also received Mama Kits as part of the initiative.

The programme aimed to improve access to essential healthcare for underserved communities, particularly residents facing financial difficulties in accessing medical services.

Speaking on the intervention, BATMEDICS Director-General, Dr Ojeje Onimisi, emphasised the importance of extending healthcare services to communities where the cost of treatment and limited access to medical facilities pose significant challenges.

He said the Kaduna outreach reflected the organisation’s commitment to preventive healthcare, early diagnosis and timely treatment, noting that bringing medical services closer to residents could help reduce the burden of accessing healthcare.

The organisation’s Director of Medical, Research and Communication, Petra Akinti Onyegbule, said the initiative combined preventive care with treatment and surgical procedures to address the health needs of beneficiaries.

She noted that the number of residents screened and those who underwent surgeries demonstrated the importance of early detection and timely medical intervention.

According to her, the outreach was designed not merely to reach a large number of people but also to make a meaningful difference in their lives by bringing essential healthcare services closer to communities.

Onyegbule reaffirmed BATMEDICS’ commitment to supporting initiatives that improve access to healthcare and promote the wellbeing of Nigerians, particularly vulnerable populations.

Some beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the intervention, describing the free medical services as timely relief amid rising healthcare costs.

A beneficiary, Amina Musa, said the eye screening provided an opportunity to assess her eyesight without worrying about the immediate cost of accessing the service.

She expressed gratitude to the organisers for bringing the medical team to her community, noting that many residents often struggle to afford hospital visits.

Another beneficiary, Ibrahim Sani, said the outreach enabled residents to receive medical attention that might otherwise have been delayed because of financial constraints.

He commended BATMEDICS for bringing healthcare services closer to the people and called for the continuation of similar interventions in other communities.

Similarly, Fatima Abdullahi described the programme as a valuable initiative that would help residents identify health problems early and access appropriate treatment.

She urged the organisers to sustain the intervention, stressing that regular medical checks and timely treatment could prevent health conditions from becoming more serious.

BATMEDICS said the Kaduna outreach formed part of its broader commitment to community-based healthcare interventions aimed at addressing gaps in access to essential medical services.

The organisation also stressed the importance of partnerships and sustained humanitarian efforts in improving healthcare delivery, especially for low-income households and other vulnerable groups.
