…says Nigeria has lost an icon
The Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, mourned the death of the Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Dr Aminu Yusuf, and described it as a major setback to Nigeria’s efforts to conduct the long-awaited national population census.
Bago, in a statement by his press secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, said the death of late NPC Boss was not only a colossal loss to Niger State but to Nigeria as a whole, given the late chairman’s contributions to public service and national development.
Bago said the deceased’s wealth of experience, competence and commitment to public service would be greatly missed, particularly his contributions to demographic research, data management and policy implementation.
