Gov Aliyu commends BUA social interventions in Sokoto

Sokoto State governor, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, has commended management of BUA group for its various social interventions in the state.

The governor, while receiving the management of the company, led by the Chairman, Abdulsamad, who was on a courtesy visit to his office, described BUA intervention in the state as incredible.

The governor however assured the company of his administration’s continuous support in the provision of an enabling environment for investors in the state.

He said the company apart from provision of jobs for the teeming youths in the state also contributed to social infrastructure such as provisions of transformers, solar-powered boreholes, books, school uniforms for the host communities in the state among many others.

Speaking earlier in his remarks, the chairman of BUA, Abdulsamad Rabiu, while congratulating the governor on his electoral success, assured of total support for his government.

He however disclosed that the company is working tirelessly to ensure that the new line under construction in the state will be commissioned by January, 2024.

“Your Excellency, it will interest you to know that I was in Abuja yesterday where I had the opportunity to meet Mr President.

“I personally inform him of the plan by the company to commission our new plant currently under construction in Sokoto here by January 2024.

“I told him that the management will be glad to have him as a special guest to commission the plant in Sokoto here.

“BUA cement in Sokoto here still remains the highest private business with more workforce in the whole of Northwest, and this is because of the enabling environment we enjoyed here in Sokoto.

“I must also tell you sir that apart from our social intervention, it is also worthy to note that it is only here in Sokoto that any residents can walk down to the factory and buy a bag of Cement at the rate of 3,500 naira only.”

The chairman however assured that the company will continue to prioritize the interest of the host communities in the state in the provision of more social interventions.
