Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has reacted to reports alleging that Germany rejected his appointment as Nigeria’s ambassador.
In a post shared on X on Monday, he described the report as fake and accused opposition figures of attempting to discredit his appointment, insisting that he would still serve the country.
He wrote, “Fake news everywhere 🤣. These opposition elements are so pained by my appointment, and they are doing everything to discredit me and scuttle it. Whether they like it or not I will serve my country! Keep crying!”

His reaction followed a viral report that alleged that Germany declined the posting on March 13, citing concerns over his past public statements and conduct.
In the report, the German authorities were said to have raised issues about what they described as erratic behaviour and controversial remarks linked to ethnic, tribal, and religious matters, which they considered destabilising.
