Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna state has said that under his watch, every life matters and assured the people of Kurmin Wali in Kajuru local government area, of the safe return of over 100 worshippers who were abducted.

He made the pledge when he visited the village to commiserate with the community on Wednesday.

Sani said, “Iam here to commiserate with the people of Kurmin Wali because of the unfortunate incident that happened precisely on Sunday.

“Here in Kaduna, as you are aware, every life matters. And we are here to assure our people of Kurmin Wali that the government of Kaduna State is collaborating with the security agencies to ensure that all the people that have been abducted return back to Kurmin Wali safely.

“When I came in, I realised that some people have injuries. And we made it clear to all of them that the Kaduna State government will certainly take care of everyone.

“And of course, when this incident happened, the security agencies took time to ascertain the essence of this incident. And of course, only yesterday, the Inspectorate of Police issued a statement. As you are aware, in Kaduna State, we don’t politicise the issue of insecurity.

“But in the last two days. We have been collaborating with the relevant security agencies, including the military, the DSS, the police, and the Office of the National Security Adviser.

“To ensure the quick return and recovery of our people that were abducted in this very important community. A lot of people are talking about the numbers. But His Highness has made it clear to all of us that up to this moment, nobody knows the actual number of people that were abducted, just like the security agents have also confirmed.

“But in Kaduna, we are not talking about the number or politics behind everything. Every citizen of Kaduna State, whether it is only one person, we believe it is a responsibility of the Kaduna State government to protect the lives and properties of the people of our state.

“It doesn’t matter whether it is only one person, because our duty is to protect the lives and properties of our people. We are talking about the sanctity of human life and dignity here.

“And that is the reason why we will go to any land, collaborating with the security agencies, to ensure the quick recovery of our people. And I want to thank the community for the support and the trust they have in our government.

“You can see clearly that the people of Kurmin Wali, just like other communities in Kaduna State, have absolute trust and belief in our government. Because you know we are running an all-inclusive government.

“And I made it clear to everyone. It’s not about religion. It’s not about ethnicity. It’s not about where you come from. We protect the lives of everyone, irrespective of religious or ethnic affiliation.

“We are one nation. in Kaduna State. And I’m happy the people of Kurmin Wali have understood that clearly. That is the reason why when we came here, you can see how they received even those that are mourning, even those that are grieving, they are with the government.”
