The Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, has called for continuous improvements and efficiency in Hajj administration for Nigerian pilgrims.
He made the call on Wednesday when he paid a visit to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf, at the Hajj House headquarters of the commission in Abuja.
Describing Hajj as a significant spiritual journey, the emir declared that the comfort, safety and wellbeing of Nigerians, while performing the obligatory pilgrimage, should be paramount.
Ambassador Bamali said that he was at NAHCON to offer his prayers, counsel and support to the Hajj commission, assuring the commission of supports of the traditional institution.
The first-class traditional ruler said the Zazzau Emirate and the traditional institution in the country remained a critical stakeholder in mobilising and sensitising intending pilgrims to ensure a seamless exercise.
He urged the commission to sustain its drive toward structural efficiency, early preparations and transparent communication to overcome recurring operational challenges.

“Hajj is a significant spiritual journey and the comfort, safety, and wellbeing of our people while fulfilling this religious obligation must remain paramount.
“We are here to offer our prayers, counsel and support to NAHCON. We also urge the commission to sustain its drive toward structural efficiency, early preparations, and transparent communication to overcome recurring operational challenges,” he said.
The emir commended the leadership of NAHCON for its ongoing efforts to reform Hajj operations, noting that managing the logistics for tens of thousands of pilgrims is a task that requires a high level of dedication, transparency and strategic planning.
Responding, the NAHCON chairman expressed deep gratitude to the emir for the historic visit, which he said was a major morale booster for the management and staff of the commission.
He briefed the emir on the commission’s latest policy frameworks, digital innovations and strategic partnerships aimed at reducing costs, improving accommodation and feeding arrangements and streamlining the airlift of pilgrims.
Ambassador Yusuf assured the Emir that the commission would look into the valuable insights provided during the interaction, reiterating NAHCON’s commitment to delivering a world-class Hajj experience that meets the expectations of the Nigerian government and the Muslim Ummah.
