Election: Kogi govt declares three-day holiday for schools

Kogi State government has ordered all primary, secondary and tertiary institutions of learning to proceed on a three day holiday for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.

A statement signed by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones, directed that all institutions of learning be closed from Friday, 10th to Tuesday, 14th of November. Schools are to resume normal academic activities on Wednesday, 15th November.

According to the statement, the period is allowed for preparation for the conduct of gubernatorial elections in the state.

The statement wished all a peaceful election, while assuring of the government’s readiness to provide a secure and conducive environment for the conduct of the poll.
