‘Do not eat,’ Asda, Tesco, other major UK supermarkets recall products

Several major UK supermarkets, including Asda, Tesco, Lidl, Marks & Spencer, Poundland and Iceland, have issued urgent “do not eat” warnings following a series of product recalls linked to safety concerns

The recalls were announced after routine checks revealed issues such as incorrect use-by dates, undeclared allergens and the possible presence of glass or plastic.

The UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) has advised shoppers who bought any of the affected items to stop eating them and return them to the store for a refund.

Asda recalled its 10 Mini Duck Spring Rolls with Hoisin Dip after discovering that the packaging carried a wrong use-by date. The product was labelled 29 December 2025, instead of the correct 29 November 2025, making it unsafe to eat after the actual date.

Tesco withdrew its Celery, Fruit and Nut Salad because it contains mustard, which was not listed on the label. The recall affects products with a use-by date of 2 December 2025, and the error poses a risk to consumers with mustard allergies.

Poundland & Dealz asked customers to return The Tasty Snack Co. Roasted and Salted Cashews after confirming that the product may contain glass. The affected batch has the code 56T 25255 and a best-before date of 19 July 2026.

Lidl also recalled its Simply Roasted and Salted Cashews (125g) due to the possible presence of glass fragments, with the affected packs carrying a best-before date of 28 June 2026.

Marks & Spencer has withdrawn its Milk Chocolate Honeycomb (120g) because the product may contain peanuts, which are not declared on the label.

The recall applies to lot number 5242, with a best-before date of 12 May 2026.

Iceland advised customers not to eat its Vegetable Lasagne after finding that some packs may contain hard pieces of plastic. The affected products have best-before dates of 23 July 2026 and 30 July 2026.

The FSA said point-of-sale notices have been placed in stores to alert customers and explain the action required. Shoppers who bought any of the affected products are urged to return them for a full refund.
