Residents of Ibadan have been encouraged to embrace peace, prayer and unity as the 2026 Shiloh Week of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Oyo Province Two, brought renewed spiritual hope to the community.
The Pastor-in-Charge of RCCG Oyo Province Two, Pastor Samuel Adeyemo, urged nations involved in international conflicts to adopt dialogue, rather than confrontation, noting that peaceful discussions remain the most reliable path to resolving disputes.
Pastor Adeyemo delivered the message during the week-long Shiloh programme, held at the church headquarters, opposite the Oyo State Housing Corporation in Bodija, Ibadan, where members gathered daily for prayers, teachings and worship.
He explained that conflicts around the world are often fueled by struggles for power and territorial dominance, adding that meaningful progress can only be achieved when parties involved in disputes allow room for negotiation and peaceful engagement.
The cleric also reassured congregants not to be alarmed by ongoing global tensions, stating that wars do not signify the end of the world, but serve as reminders for believers to strengthen their faith and remain hopeful.

Speaking on the theme of the 2026 Shiloh Week, ‘The covenant keeping God’, Pastor Adeyemo said the programme was designed to remind Christians of God’s faithfulness despite prevailing social, political and economic challenges facing the nation.
In her remarks, wife of the Assistant Pastor-in-Charge of RCCG Ekiti Province Eleven, Mrs Olubukola Afuye, called on Nigerians to cultivate the habit of praying for political leaders rather than criticising them, noting that prayer remains a powerful tool for national transformation.
She said consistent prayers for leaders will bring about positive change in governance and help address pressing national concerns such as insecurity and corruption.
Speaking on the 2027 general election, Mrs Olukorede Adeyemo urged politicians to draw closer to God and avoid violence, stressing that peaceful conduct during elections will strengthen democracy and promote unity.
Participants at the programme testified to experiencing spiritual upliftment, healing and renewed hope, as the event featured Bible readings, prayers, songs, testimonies and thanksgiving sessions, culminating in a vigil expected to further strengthen community bonds and inspire positive living.
