City People Magazine’s annual awards ceremony has recognised Adeyemi Adetona better known by his stage name Tillaman as ‘Indigenous artiste of the year’.

Just as the name of the awards ceremony indicates, this edition showcases excellence in its totality.

It celebrated top personalities, companies, and government bodies doing great in their respective endeavours.

These award recipients turned out in their numbers, accompanied by their guests to grace the occasion which was held at the Etal Hotels & Halls, a popular event centre in the heart of Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos State.

The prestigious ceremony was anchored by the duo of talented broadcasters, Fisayo Alabi and Abiodun Ayorinde in Yoruba and English respectively. They combined well to engage the large audience seated in the hall while taking them through the agenda of the day.

He said City People has been able to sustain the annual awards for the past 27 years to the glory of God and what makes this year’s City People Awards for Excellence unique is the huge number of top personalities who graced the occasion, either as awardees or special guests. He however thanked them for believing in the brand and gracing the awards ceremony.

The Nigerian-bred artiste Tillaman began cultivating his knack for musical expression at an early age. In the early 2000s, after he moved to the UK, Tillaman decided to unleash the talent in him; sharing his passion and gift with the world.

Tillaman, a singer, songwriter, producer, and Music video director, had the honour of working with several established artists and producers. In addition, Tillaman has written and produced for different artistes like Ice Prince, Snap Capona, and Jjc Skillz. He has also performed with fellow international recording artiste like Taio Cruz, Migos, MoHits, Dotstar etc. They have all observed that he is a force to be reckoned with in music and entertainment.

Tillaman’s first single release in 2010 gave him his due break into the fast-growing entertainment (Music) industry in Nigeria as everyone fell in love with his smooth delivery on the song PUYANGA making him one of the most sought-after artiste.

Tillaman has since released hit songs such as Koma roll, Ori Owo, Mawobe and has worked with industry-leading acts such as Burna Boy, Davido, Phyno, etc. Tillaman strives to create classic music that transcends genres.

In an interview with Great Unicorn, he revealed that he is set to release a mixtape titled “The Truth” D.I.Y’” which speaks on his experience so far from the Afro-beat music industry which will keep his fans happy while he works on his forthcoming album.

The evident success and track record won him this award, Fisayo Alabi recounted.
