…ordains over 600 pastors
The President, Christ Apostolic Church (Supreme Council), Pastor Henry Ojo, has charged church leaders on the need for regular and consistent overhauling of the church to prevent spiritual stagnation.
In his sermon on Sunday at the end of the 2026 Annual Pastors Conference and Convention of the Christ Apostolic Church (Supreme Council) Nigeria and Overseas, held from Monday 20th to Sunday 27th of September at CAC Alasepe, Ikire, Osun State, the President said methods must change even though the gospel and the Holy Spirit remain constant.
Speaking on the topic, “The Need for Regular and Consistent Church Overhauling”, the CAC Supreme Council President said, “Without regular overhauling of the church, the church will become dead. So the leaders of the church must know the importance of consistent and regular overhauling. Many of the things we started with become dead, no longer fashionable. The gospel does not change. The Holy Spirit does not change, but methods change from time to time, and that’s why overhauling is very important.”
He noted that a church that lacks overhauling will be stagnant, adding that failure by church leaders to take necessary steps is responsible for crises in many churches today.
Ojo charged all church leaders to be truthful to their members and the public and to adopt new systems that ensure spiritual growth of members, noting that a church will grow when leaders move higher.
He also advised the newly ordained pastors to emulate good examples among church leaders whose footsteps they can follow and to devote themselves to reading and studying to make their ministry successful while also warning them to avoid fornication through self-discipline.
The week-long programme witnessed the ordination of over 600 pastors from Nigeria and other parts of the world, including Kenya, India, Pakistan, the United Kingdom and the United States, among others.
Speaking at the event, the governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Oyo State, Bimbo Adekanmbi, congratulated the CAC family, adding that churches are an integral part of society.
He, however, urged churches to continue to preach love to members of society.

Adekanmbi also urged members of the church and the general public to participate in the coming general elections.
He said, “First, I want to congratulate the CAC family in Oyo State and worldwide on the occasion of the ordination of pastors and this annual convention that they are doing. They say healthy shepherd, healthy church, and it focuses on church growth and development, and several other things, even about financial integrity in the church. So I’m pleased that the church is preaching messages that are touching on contemporary issues in society.
“Churches are an integral part of society. They have a role to play because they mould from childhood people that will go on to occupy positions in society. They are the conscience of society. So the message to the church is that we continue to preach what the Bible says, love one another.
“Also, I advise each and every one of you to participate in the coming general elections where leaders will be elected.”
Also speaking, the General Superintendent of the church, Pastor James Onagwa, said the conference was aimed at spiritual renewal.
“We expect every pastor who came here to return with the fire of the Holy Spirit. We expect them to take what they have received here and use it to transform their churches and positively impact lives. We believe this spiritual renewal will help turn people away from stubbornness, promote moral uprightness and contribute to ending corruption in our society,” Onagwa said.
In his remarks, the General Evangelist of the church, Prophet R.A. Kolawole, said the role of a shepherd applies to all leaders.
“President of the nation is a shepherd. Minister is a shepherd. Senator is a shepherd, House of Representatives members are shepherds. Governors are shepherds. So if our leaders can shepherd the sheep of this nation well, Nigeria will grow higher.
“They should not limit the shepherd to ministers of God alone. They should see the work of shepherd as the work of leaders in all sectors. We are appealing to all our leaders that they should imbibe the spirit of a shepherd, not just the spirit of a leader,” Kolawole said.
