APA honours three outstanding students for academic excellence

Published by

In a heartwarming ceremony, African Professionals of Australia Limited (APA), a devoted organisation celebrating excellence, has recognised and awarded three remarkable students from different schools for their exceptional academic achievements.

Comprising a group of African migrants who are professionals residing in Australia, APA is on a mission to nurture exceptional students by sponsoring their educational endeavours and helping them actualise their dreams.

The prestigious awards and scholarship presentation occurred at All Saints International College in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, on Monday, October 16, 2023. The event’s primary aim was to encourage the awardees and inspire other students to be diligent in their studies.

The awards and scholarships were granted to the deserving students based on their distinguished performance in the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), National Examination Council (NECO), and Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations.

The exceptional students who shone on this special occasion were Kanyinsola Joseph, Bridget Adaramola, and Shamsudeen Abubakar. Shamsudeen Abubakar demonstrated his academic prowess with six A’s and three B’s in his WAEC, seven A’s and two B’s in NECO, and an outstanding JAMB score of 353. Kanyinsola Joseph displayed an exceptional achievement of nine A’s in her academic records.

Mrs Olajumoke Akere, the Country Director of APA, delivered an inspiring address to the students during the ceremony. She emphasised the organisation’s commitment to recognizing and celebrating students who exhibit hard work and dedication to academic excellence. Mrs Akere urged the awardees to stay motivated and diligent in their studies, setting a strong example for other students.

The students who received the awards expressed their happiness and gratitude, vowing to continue their pursuit of higher education and academic success.

Beyond their dedication to rewarding outstanding students, APA also takes pride in celebrating professionals with vocational skills in Africa who exhibit exceptional abilities. The organization empowers these professionals with the training and support they need to excel in their respective fields.

APA’s extensive network spans across Australia, with chapters in Western Australia, New South Wales, Victoria, the Australian Capital Territory, and Queensland. Comprising a collective of African professionals, they are passionately committed to supporting students and organizations alike.

One of their objectives is to encourage young people that are coming up to become professionals like themselves.

Notably, APA has expanded its influence to various African countries, where they organise diverse projects, like award presentation and trainings, aimed at giving back to the communities and environments they have roots in, reinforcing their dedication to the development and progress of their homeland. They also have another programme this month, like cybersecurity.
