…defends performance in office
The member representing Oluyole Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, has defended her record in office, insisting that public discourse should be based on facts and verifiable evidence rather than political rhetoric.
In a statement released to journalists, the lawmaker urged the Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Hon Akeem Olatunji, to focus on accounting for his stewardship instead of making what she described as misleading claims about her performance.
She said, “Public discourse should be driven by facts and verifiable evidence, not political rhetoric. Rather than making misleading claims, the Chairman of Oluyole Local Government should account for his own stewardship by highlighting the projects and achievements recorded during his tenure.”
Akande-Sadipe maintained that she had facilitated numerous infrastructural projects across Oluyole Federal Constituency, including the construction of school blocks, installation of transformers, provision of boreholes, and solar-powered streetlights.
Clarifying her involvement in the Ijebu Igbo–Itaegba–Owonowen Road project, the federal lawmaker said the road was not one of her constituency projects but a federal government initiative that had suffered significant setbacks before she assumed office.
“The Ijebu Igbo–Itaegba–Owonowen Road is not one of my constituency projects. It is an independent federal government project that had experienced serious setbacks before I came into office. Through sustained engagement, legislative oversight and collaboration with the relevant authorities, we were able to contribute to its revival and the progress currently being witnessed,” she said.

Akande-Sadipe called on members of the public and the media to verify the facts surrounding the project.
“I encourage the public and the media to consult officials of the Federal Ministry of Works in Oyo and Ogun States, as well as community leaders and residents along the project corridor, who are familiar with the history of the project and the recent progress recorded,” she added.
Reaffirming her commitment to the development of Oluyole Federal Constituency, the lawmaker listed some of her interventions, including the facilitation of five pedestrian bridges along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to improve the safety of residents.
She also disclosed that work was ongoing on 11 additional boreholes across Oluyole Local Government, while plans were underway for the installation of 150 solar-powered streetlights in communities within the constituency.
“The projects highlighted are only a fraction of what we have delivered. Our commitment remains to continue providing impactful and sustainable development that will improve the lives of the people of Oluyole Federal Constituency,” Akande-Sadipe said.
