Afrobeat artist Mayour, professionally known as Mayor and born Edward Sarfo, is building an international profile that spans music, business, and community development. With personal roots in Nigeria and Ghana and a professional base in Indonesia, the artist represents a growing wave of African creatives engaging global audiences beyond the continent.

Born in Aba, Abia State, Nigeria, and raised in Ghana, Mayour’s background has shaped a sound influenced by traditional Afrobeat rhythms and contemporary production. His music often reflects themes of identity, resilience, spirituality, and cultural pride, drawing from lived experiences across multiple African and international settings.

Now based in Jakarta, Mayour has increasingly positioned his work within a broader cultural exchange, using music as a medium to connect African heritage with diverse global audiences. Alongside his artistic pursuits, he is involved in business ventures, serving as Chief Executive Officer of Mayor Filman Services, which operates in aluminum works and apartment services, and leading Mayour Filman Records, a label focused on nurturing emerging talent.

Beyond entertainment and entrepreneurship, Mayour is also active in philanthropy. He founded the Mayor Foundation, a charity organization headquartered in Indonesia that supports community development and social empowerment initiatives, reflecting a continued focus on social responsibility.

In 2025, Mayour released “No Small,” a new single featuring Bigsino and Harry B, adding to his growing catalogue and reinforcing his presence on the international Afrobeat scene.

As his career develops, Mayour’s work continues to reflect a blend of music, enterprise, and community engagement, underscoring the increasingly global reach of African artists and cultural narratives.
