Access Bank Plc and the Project Management Institute (PMI) have announced a partnership, aimed at expanding women’s access to globally recognised project management certifications.
The initiative to be carried out through Access Bank’s W Initiative, the two brands explained, comes against the backdrop of persistent gender disparities in Nigeria’s formal private sector.
The W Initiative is Access Bank’s flagship platform for women’s empowerment, providing access to loans and credit facilities, capacity-building and mentorship programmes, and the W Community. It is also seen as an opportunity for PMI to extend its offerings to the professionals of the feminine gender, so as to enhance their career developments, by making globally recognised project management certifications more affordable.

He explained that through the institute’s partnership with Access Bank, women at different stages of their careers, can acquire recognised project management certifications, strengthen their professional capabilities and contribute to the projects shaping Nigeria’s future.
Head, Women Banking Team, Access Bank Plc, Nene Kunle-Ogunlesi, argued that by supporting women’s financial ambitions, the bank is also investing in their professional growth and earning potential.
