The opulent halls of the Okoya estate are radiating with a double dose of glamour and gratitude this weekend as the matriarch of the Eleganza dynasty, Dr. Mrs. Folashade Okoya, MON, marks her 49th birthday. In a poetic alignment of milestones, the celebration transcends the usual birthday fanfare, doubling as a grand introduction to a new chapter for the family: the engagement of their eldest daughter, Olamide.

As the Managing Director of Eleganza Industrial City Limited, Shade Okoya has long been admired for her industrial prowess and sartorial elegance. However, this Saturday, April 25, 2026, the focus shifts from the boardroom to the heart of the home. Family insiders describe the atmosphere as electric yet deeply reflective, a sentiment echoed by the “symbolic alignment” of Shade’s personal milestone with her daughter’s marital journey.

Olamide, known within elite circles as a soft-spoken and deeply religious young woman, is set to begin her traditional marriage proceedings on the very day her mother was born. While the identity of the lucky groom remains a closely guarded secret, the guest list for the engagement ceremony is reportedly an exclusive assembly of family and the innermost circle of high society. Many observers note that the outpouring of love for the family feels like “payback time” for Shade, a woman renowned for her unwavering presence at the milestones of her friends and associates.

At the center of this whirlwind of joy is the enduring 27-year union between Shade and her husband, the legendary industrialist, Alhaji Rasaki Akanni Okoya, CON. Their marriage, often cited by Lagos society as a blueprint for mutual respect and shared values, appears stronger than ever. The billionaire mogul was reportedly seen “grinning from ear to ear,” crediting the double celebration to the blessings of Almighty Allah.

In a rare, effusive tribute to his wife, Chief Okoya shared his delight, stating that there could be no greater birthday gift for Shade than witnessing Olamide embark on her own path to marital bliss. “Wishing you long life, good health, and continued happiness,” the Chief remarked, offering prayers for the couple’s union to be steeped in peace and prosperity.

As the festivities kick off this Saturday, the double celebration underscores the core tenets of the Okoya brand: faith, legacy, and tight-knit family bonds. For the Nigerian social scene, it isn’t just the party of the season; it is a profound testament to a legacy of love being passed from one generation to the next.
