As Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s administration approaches its second anniversary, a support group under the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Youth Strategic Alliance for Continuity, has commended the governor’s performance and organised a special prayer session in his honour.
The prayer session, held on Monday at the historic Sultan Abubakar III Juma’at Mosque in Sokoto, drew members of the group, including women, who gathered to offer prayers for sustained peace and development in the state.
Speaking at the event, the Director General of the group, Mr. Musa Ladan, said the gesture was a show of solidarity and appreciation for the achievements recorded under Governor Aliyu’s leadership.
“We are gathered here to pray for our governor, who has remained committed to the development and well-being of Sokoto State since assuming office,” Ladan stated.
“We are truly proud of his numerous strides in infrastructure, youth empowerment, agriculture, and other key sectors.
“Today, we pray for his good health, strength, and continued dedication to the growth of our dear state and Nigeria at large.”
Also addressing the gathering, the group’s Women Leader, Hajiya Rabi’atu Muhammad, reaffirmed their commitment to mobilising greater grassroots support for the governor, especially in light of his administration’s focus on women empowerment.
“We believe in the vision of Governor Ahmed Aliyu and call on all women in the state to rally behind the government’s efforts to achieve lasting development,” she said.
The event marked the beginning of a series of activities planned by various groups in anticipation of the second anniversary of Governor Aliyu’s administration.
