A Jos Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday sentenced a 24-year-old trader, Musa Ibrahim, to six months imprisonment for stealing four phones valued at N200,000.
Judge Shawomi Bokkos sentenced Ibrahim after he pleaded guilty to a count charge of stealing.
Bokkos, however, gave him an option of an N20,000 fine.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Ibrahim Gokwat, told the court that Police officers attached to the “C” Division, during a “Stop and Search Operation, arrested the convict with four phones and reported the matter on Sept. 9.
Gokwat said that the convict stole the phones from one Sadiq Suleiman of Beach Road Jos while sleeping.
