…felicitates Muslims, Christians on Ramadan, Lent
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and governorship aspirant in Oyo, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has expressed confidence that the party will retain power in the state in the 2027 general elections.
Ajadi gave the assurance on Tuesday while addressing members of the Park Management System (PMS) at their headquarters in New Garage, Ibadan.
He urged transport union leaders and commercial drivers across the state to remain united and sustain the prevailing atmosphere of peace within their ranks.

Advising the park managers against internal divisions, the PDP stalwart encouraged them to remain focused and not allow external influences to create discord.
“Do not let anyone deceive you. Stay united and steadfast. I assure you that our party, the PDP, will produce the next governor in 2027,” he said.
Ajadi noted that his visit to the PMS headquarters was part of efforts to formally inform transport stakeholders of his ambition to contest for the governorship seat in 2027.
He pledged to prioritise the welfare of transporters if elected, outlining plans to modernise city cab operations in collaboration with the Park Management System.
He also promised to expand the mass transit scheme by increasing the number of buses and ensuring their availability across all zones of the state.
According to him, the proposed mass transit system would operate in partnership with park managers to enhance efficiency and accessibility.
Ajadi commended the administration of Seyi Makinde for the construction of modern bus terminals across the state, assuring that his government would ensure optimal utilisation and maintenance of the facilities if given the mandate.
In related development, Ajadi extended warm greetings to Muslims and Christians on the simultaneous commencement of Ramadan and Lent.
In a statement personally signed by him, the PDP aspirant described the coincidence of the Islamic month of Ramadan, which involves 30 days of fasting, and the 40-day Christian Lenten season as symbolic and significant.
He called on adherents of both religions to embrace religious tolerance, peaceful coexistence and mutual respect.
“Our country is going through hardship. The economic challenges and insecurity confronting us require sincere prayers. We should use this sacred period to seek the face of the Almighty God,” he stated.
Ajadi described the simultaneous observance of Ramadan and Lent as a reminder of shared values between Islam and Christianity, stressing that both faiths preach love, tolerance and respect for constituted authority.
He urged Nigerians to pray for the nation and its leaders, expressing hope that the fasting period would usher in renewed unity, peace and progress.
“I wish Muslims and Christians a rewarding Ramadan and Lent. Let us reflect on the lessons of love, tolerance and peaceful living that our religions teach,” he added.
