A group of Nigerians living in diaspora, under the aegis of Tinubu Ambo Support Group (TASG), has declared their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, vowing to mobilise votes for his re-election, come 2027.
The group made this known in a statement signed by its Director, Mr. Kelvin Muyiwa, copy of which was made available to newsmen, saying that the declaration was made during a solidarity meeting, held in England where they commended Tinubu’s administration’s efforts in stabilizing the economy and restoring confidence in governance.
The Diaspora group noted that despite initial challenges, the Tinubu-led government had demonstrated a strong commitment to repositioning Nigeria for sustainable growth through key reforms in infrastructure, power, and industrial development.
It described President Tinubu as a visionary leader whose policies were gradually laying the foundation for a more prosperous nation, expressing the belief that he deserved another term to consolidate on the gains achieved so far.
“We in the Diaspora have observed the President’s pragmatic steps in reviving critical sectors of the economy. His Renewed Hope Agenda is beginning to yield results, and we believe he deserves another term to consolidate on the gains achieved so far,” the group said.
The group, therefore, enjoined Nigerians at home to take advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), emphasizing that active participation in the electoral process remained crucial to sustaining democracy and national development.
“We urge every eligible Nigerian, especially the youths, to go out and register for their PVCs. The power to decide the future of our country lies in our hands,” it said.
In a related development, the group in their congress also threw its weight behind former Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, urging him to contest for a return to office in 2027.
The group, while throwing its support, described Ambode as a tested and result-driven administrator whose leadership style transformed Lagos into a model city for other states to emulate, expressing strong belief that bringing him back would further accelerate the state development.
“Ambode’s first tenure remains a benchmark in good governance, urban renewal, and people-oriented leadership. We strongly believe that bringing him back will further accelerate the development of Lagos State,” the group said.
