Yuletide: Gov Inuwa orders immediate payment of workers’ salaries, pensions

Published by

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has ordered the immediate payment of December salaries for all civil servants as well as pensions to all pensioners.

The directive is the resolve of the governor to ensure that workers and pensioners in the state are prepared for and enjoy the Yuletide period, considering the economic hardship in the country.

The directive also affects workers at the local government level as well as pensioners at that level.

The Governor directed the State Ministry of Finance and the Office of the Head of Civil Service to ensure that all workers and pensioners were paid their wages on Thursday, December 21, even if it meant putting in extra hours of work.

Inuwa Yahaya reiterated his administration’s continued commitment to the welfare of civil servants through prompt payment of salaries and other entitlements.

It is worth noting that Gombe State has consistently upheld its responsibility towards its workers, as exemplified by the prompt payment of salaries as well as the continuous disbursement of the N10,000 palliative to all categories of civil servants.

This act of care has persisted even when other states have yet to implement similar measures.

The Governor therefore extended season’s greetings to the citizens and wished the Christian community a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance, as contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli
Director-General (Press Affairs) Government House, Gombe.
