The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), Kogi State Specialist Hospital (KSSH) Lokoja, has expressed her pleasure with the progress made and confident of a smooth and seamless resolution of all the contentious issues by the Kogi State Government.
Recalled that the ARD KSSH had on September 2, called the attention of Kogi Government to the expiration of the 21 days ultimatum given to it to meet its demands.
The association disclosed this in a communique, issued at the end of its emergency Executive Council meeting on Friday in Lokoja, and signed by its President and Assist.Sec.-General, Dr Ameh Friday, and Dr Emmanuel Ejeh, respectively.
“The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) KSSH wishes to state that having examined all the contentious issues which in its entirety bother on the welfare of our members, Congress hereby states as followings.
“Congress without any reservations appreciates the workaholic Hon. Commissioner for Health, Dr. Zakari Usman for his commitment, resilience and passion to seeing the speedy resolution of the matters that this association has raised.
“Congress appreciates the Auditor General of the State, Mallam Yakubu Yusuf Okala for the interphase.
“Our appreciation to the Accountant General – Hon. Momoh Jibril (CNA) of the State for the Interphase with ARD in a bid to resolve all the matters raised.
“Congress is pleased with the progress made and is confident of a smooth and seamless resolution of all the contentious issues as underlisted,” the group said.
The ARD KSSH stressed that their pressing requirements were for the State Government to implement the upward Review of CONMESS 2014 to CONMESS 2023, and approval of Medical Residency Training Fund (MRTF 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023).
“Review of Hazard Allowance as released by the National Salary, Income and Wages Commission, December 22, 2021,
“Implementation and Cash backing of Promotion as well as the statutory Annual Increments with Payment of Arrears of both Annual Increments, Promotion and Hazard Allowance.
“Congress hereby following the intervention of the workaholic Hon. Dr. Zakari Usman, Mallam Yakubu Yusuf Okala and Hon. Momoh Jibril (CNA), expresses confidence in a speedy resolution of all the aforementioned concerns.
“That Congress will reconvene from time to time to review the progress made so far,” the association said.
