The Ọtun Iyalode of Eleyele Community, Oloye Titilọpẹ Ayoka Gbadamosi, has donated Business Grants to the women in the community.
Starting with 25 women who were present at the venue of the event, these first recipients marked the start of the Revolving Business Grant Scheme, held at Balkis Memorial School, Eleyele, Ibadan, Oyo State.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Folasade Atanda, who spoke on behalf of the women, said, “we appreciate the consistency of Hon Titilọpẹ Gbadamosi, always putting smiles on the faces of the women folks, She has been so helpful and supportive to the women, not only in this community but also across Oyo State, This is another proof of her kind gestures to humanity, may God continue to bless her finances and career.”
Another beneficiary, Ramon Basirat, a trader from Ibadan North West Local Government, said in her appreciation remarks, “Oloye Titilọpẹ is God-sent to the women’s world; she has been there for the women; she is a voice for the female gender; and she is even a pillar of support to the youths across the board.
I pray that God will always come through for her; divine blessings and help will be her portion in all facets of life.”
In her remarks, Oloye Titilọpẹ Gbadamosi said, “We understand the economic situation in the country, and this is a time we must encourage as many small business owners and traders as possible.
The token given to these women today is expected to give a boost to their businesses, pushing them a little further up on their standard of living.”
The Founder of the Women Too Africa Foundation stated that, for the sake of transparency and accountability, a monitoring team among the women has been put in place to monitor the use of this grant and facilitate effective distribution and implementation of the scheme.
Noting that “The revolving grant is expected to be given every two months, where new beneficiaries will emerge, as a means to ensure that it goes round,”
The Community Relations Expert concluded by admonishing the women, “I implore you to make judicious use of this business grant, add it to the capital of your merchandise and small and medium enterprises, or start a new business with it”.
