PLANS are good. At least, it gives us some sort of target. Looking at it again in the context of 2020, there is so little that we can control and are in charge of. That is why we must take each day as it comes. Thankfully, we can control our relationship to some extent. A lot of people already have plans and resolutions for the New Year as touching milestones they want to achieve in their career and elsewhere. This week on WhatsApp conversation, the attention turns to relationship resolutions for the New Year. Our contributors outline their relationship plans for the year 2021.
Rubie Olamide
The 2021 plan for people like me is pretty simple. I just want to make more money, love less, commit more, go on more dates, meet new people, have all the available fun, sleep, and wake up in peace. Oh, and have as little sex as possible. Sex tends to make you bond with people unnecessarily.

In 2021 and beyond, my relationship plan is to be with one lady, no cheating thus less drama, and use the ample time to learn more skills and travel around Nigeria. So help me God. Cheating is bad for the health, in 2021, one must be focused.
Banjo Olakitan
You cannot plan for love, however, if fate would have it, in the new year I plan to love and to do so unashamedly. As regards non-romantic relationships, the year has been tough. I plan to solidify my friendships and get more out of friendship.
Yusuf Biliaminu
The plan is to remain in my romantic relationship. 2020 has been a huge test, the lockdown and the general terrain of the year prevented one from making a lot of advancement. Thanks to the wonders of technology. Hoping 2021 will be better and that it will be the year when we get to finally tie the knot.
Tobi Lawal
2021 for me will be a year to be more liberal with compliments. The year 2020 has taught me that nothing is guaranteed, so I am going to be living in each moment as much as possible. Either with friends, family, or loved ones, I will try as much as possible to mend our differences as fast as possible so as to move on.
Eberechi Akpan
There is power in consistency. I was single in 2020, except if something dramatic happens, I should be single in 2021 too. That said, I will be investing greatly in friendship. I will leverage on the strength of the people around me and I do hope to have a fabulous year.
Akanji Victor
Nothing beats being with the same woman, year in, year out. 2021, the plan is to make her as happy as possible in as many ways as possible. Hopefully, things will work out more smoothly in comparison to 2020.
Damilola Adebayo
Considering all that 2020 has been, I am planning to love my partner even more recklessly in the new year. It is just the least thing to do. If time permits, I am going to spend as much time with her. Have fun as much as possible. That is the plan!
Hajarah Jibril
The plan for last year was to work with more persons especially at work and it has been beautiful really. The plan for 2021 is to improve on this, expanding my circle especially to those in my line of passion which is fashion. The relationships I’ve had this year have been remarkable and I look forward to more of that.
Tayo Apesin
2021 will be a year to take my relationship very seriously. With all that we have seen and witnessed this year, it will not be wrong to give everything up for love and to do it in the most careless way. I will try as much as possible to look out for other people.
Kelvin Odulami
Just before the lockdown, we had plans to go on a tour to some places within the country. Given the security situation, some locations are already off the list. We will be looking forward to making the trip in the first quarter of the new year. It will be a time to bond and get even better.
We start off the new year with a piece on how to build strong relationships. This will not be limited to romantic relationships alone, it will be thorough and all-encompassing.
