Police secure freedom for three quarry site workers, commuter kidnapped in Ibadan

Published by

Three quarry workers and a lady in an Uber car, who were abducted at Idi Ayunre, on Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road, Oyo State axis, on Tuesday, have been rescued by police operatives in the state.

The victims regained their freedom on Friday at about 6:20 pm. They were identified as Ubong Jacob, Amisu Isaac, Wasiu and Adeoti Tosin.

They were said to have been brought out of the bush by the police operatives who had been on the kidnappers’ trail since the day of the incident.

It was gathered that the operatives, including the Divisional Police Officer at Idi Ayunre and the officer in charge of Anti-Kidnapping Squad (AKS), as well as local hunters and vigilante members, had been combing the bush for three days, to trail the kidnappers and get the victims released. Initially, the news that milled round had been the kidnap of the three quarry workers.

It was later learnt that the kidnappers added the fourth victim, Tosin, when they saw her in an approaching car with the driver.
