Four more principal officers for the 10th Oyo State House of Assembly have emerged.
The new officers announced at Tuesday’s plenary of the Assembly are Honourable Salami Ayinde Waliu of Irepo constituency as Minority Leader and Honourable Gbenga Oyekola of Atiba constituency as Chief Whip.
Honourable Yusuf Adebisi of Ibadan South West I was returned for a second time as deputy chief whip while Honourable Sunkanmi Babalola of Egbeda was announced as deputy leader for another term.
It be recalled that on the inauguration of the 10th Assembly last Wednesday, the Speaker, Deputy Speaker and Leader of the House.
With seven principal officers emerging so far, it is expected that the chairman, Parliamentary Council and members of standing committees of the House will be announced in sittings to come.
Speaker of the Assembly, Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin said the officers unanimously agreed to take up the leadership positions of the House in the 10th Assembly.
The speaker also announced the setting up of a seven-man Adhoc committee to conclude ongoing investigation into alleged misappropriation of funds involved in the leadership of three local government areas.
The affected council areas are Kajola, Iseyin and Saki-west.
The investigation was started by the House committee on Local government and Chieftaincy Matters of the 9th Assembly but the report was not presented before the Assembly was dissolved.
The Adhoc committee to be chaired by the lawmaker representing Ibarapa North/ Central, Peter Ojedokun, is expected to present the report at the next plenary of the Assembly.
Other members of the committee are: Olajide Oparinde, Tunde Kehinde, Babajide Adebayo, Sando Adedoyin, Adeola Bamidele and Akande Opeyemi.
