Oni, a huge gain for PDP ―Falegan, Ekiti PDP chief

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Mr Opeyemi Falegan, has hailed the return of former Governor Segun Oni of Ekiti State to the PDP, saying Oni is “a fulcrum of political stability and good governance in Ekiti State and Nigeria as a whole.”

In a statement in reaction to the dumping of the All Progressives Congress (APC) by Chief Oni, the party’s former Deputy National Chairman, Falegan said with the likes of Oni in its fold, the PDP will bounce back and wax stronger “because the former governor is capable of bringing all issues affecting the party to a halt.”

Falegan said: “Oni is a man of peace who is not selfish. He believes in an all-inclusiveness and good governance. His integrity and humility coupled with his huge achievements in the past, especially when he was the governor of the state will assist or go a long way at promoting the PDP ahead of future polls in the state.”

He contended that “Nigeria can only develop politically and economically if people of honour and integrity are allowed to participate and contribute in the scheme of governance in the country.”

According to him, the latest political journey of Oni would go a long way in political calculation, alignment and re-alignment towards the 2022 governorship election in Ekiti State and subsequent polls in Nigeria.
