Ondo acting governor congratulates Tinubu on Tribunal victory

Published by

Ondo Acting Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima on their victory at the Presidential Election Petition Court.

Ayedatiwa in a statement signed by his Press Secretary, Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson, said the victory is a true reflection of the will of Nigerians who defied all odds and challenges and voted for the APC and President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima as their choice during the February 25th, 2023 election.

Aiyedatiwa said Nigerian electorate had spoken through the ballots and the court has also validated the peoples’ decision by judicial pronouncements, which upheld the victory of President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 presidential poll.

According to him, millions of Nigerians who truly believe in democratic governance as the best option of government were not in doubt as regards the mandate freely given to President Tinubu to pilot the affairs of Nigeria for four years based on his track records as a true democrat as well as his uncommon achievements as two-term governor of Lagos state and a former senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“The victory at the court is the beauty of democracy and the sanctity of the rule of law. Nigerians went to the poll in February, defied all the odds and challenges at the time, and when all was done over eight million Nigerians voted to elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, and the All Progressive Congress (APC) as the President and vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as well as the party’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Yes, going to court to further test our judiciary and further the course of justice is part of democracy, we thought that the opposition parties that lost the election should have displayed the good spirit of sportsmanship by congratulating the winner, President Bola Tinubu and APC, but they chose to contest the election results, which is within their rights. Now that the election and the results have been upheld by the Court. I truly hope they will do the right thing and choose the part of honor by congratulating the winner.

“On behalf of our Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, and the government of Ondo State I congratulate the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima on their well-deserved victory at the Presidential Election Tribunal Court, and for piloting the affair of Nigeria successfully in the last 100 days as president and vice president. We believe in Mr. President’s leadership and the Renewed Hope Agenda that we have all embraced”.

“I also congratulate the leadership and members of our great party, the All Progressives Congress, and all Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora on this very landmark judicial victory.”

Aiyedatiwa called on all Nigerians across the country to continue to pray for President Tinubu’s success and for all other political parties to team up with President Bola Tinubu to deliver the real dividends of democracy to Nigerians through the Renewed Hope agenda, saying “no doubt the judicial verdict is a victory for Nigerians, democracy and the rule of law”.
